We only have one environment

Clean water

While I’m not so sure I’m entirely done growing up, I was raised in southeastern North Carolina in a small town called Bladenboro. I’ve always enjoyed exploring the outdoors by hiking or backpacking, and in later years, I’ve enjoyed exploring the inside with books, videos, music and the expansion of new perspectives. I remember the North Carolina environment of the 1940s and I can tell we’ve already lost a more verdant, pristine, and unpolluted state. I was drawn into supporting Environment North Carolina by the character, intelligence and transparent honesty of the young person who knocked on my front door asking to support their effort to protect North Carolina’s environment. We only have one environment to enjoy living in, and once it’s gone it doesn’t come back for an encore.
