Tell Gov. Newsom: Save rooftop solar

California needs a lot more rooftop solar to meet its clean energy needs. Every rooftop without solar panels is a missed opportunity. However, rooftop solar sales have plummeted following the implementation of the California Public Utilities Commission’s (CPUC) decision to slash solar incentives. Starting in May, 2023, each month has seen solar sales down an average of 80% compared to the prior year. This makes it much harder for Californians to go solar and puts the brakes on one of our most successful clean energy solutions.

California’s long standing, successful solar policies have helped us lead the nation in solar installations, but the CPUC’s actions are taking a major step backwards just as California needs more solar power than ever to meet its 100% clean energy goal and cut air and climate pollution. Tell Gov. Newsom to save rooftop solar and keep clean energy growing.
