Colorado Members of Congress are speaking out against toxic train plan
It's a bad idea to transport oil in trains along the Colorado River.
In light of toxic train derailments in other parts of the country, it’s time to take a good look at plans to construct a railway that would increase the amount of oil traveling along the Colorado River for 100 miles by train.
We’re glad that Senator Hickenlooper and Representative Neguse are working to stop this railway from being built. The two lawmakers recently sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack urging him to use his authority to stop construction of the Uinta Basin Railway citing the risk to communities and the climate change impacts of burning additional oil.
