Environment America has one mission: to protect the natural world.

We advocate ideas and actions to shift our country onto a greener, healthier path. Our network of 30 state environmental groups promotes clean air, clean water, clean energy, wildlife and open spaces, and a livable climate. Our members put grassroots support behind our research, public education, advocacy and litigation.

Nothing is more important to our future than facing this fact: Infinite economic growth on a finite planet is neither possible nor wise. We must shift from deplete to preserve, from disposable to sustainable, from “too much” to “enough.” And when nature thrives, it can replenish our lives with boundless beauty, wonder and awe.

We approach this mission in a strategic, result-oriented way by:

  • Staying laser-focused on the environment,
  • Making sure we’re making a difference, not just make a statement,
  • Working with anybody — Republican, Democrat or other — to deliver action and accomplishments, and
  • Reaching out to as many people as we can to build broad and deep support for the environment, not just preach to the choir.
