Congressman Eric Sorensen, Illinois

As a meteorologist, Eric Sorensen has been talking to Illinois viewers about climate change for 15 years. Now, as a new member of Congress, he’s taking action to solve the problem, including getting an electric vehicle. We asked him to share his experience:

“I wanted to talk with you about a purchase I do not regret – it is buying a Chevy Bolt EV. Great car, but also that next step for our family to do what’s right for the environment.

“As we get from point A to point B, whether that is from our home to the grocery store or for me as a congressman going across the district, it’s to make sure that I produce as little of an impact on climate change as possible.”

Like many Americans making the switch to electric vehicles, he’s found these new cars to be “a dream to drive” and has already put 8,000 miles on it.
