Statement: EPA makes right moves in updating slaughterhouse and PFAS pollution standards

WASHINGTON -- In twin victories for clean water, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency  announced Wednesday that it will update water pollution control standards for both meat and poultry processing plants and for the release of PFAS chemicals.

New report outlines key ways to reconnect nature through wildlife corridors

“For too long a labyrinth of roads, fences and sprawl has penned animals into smaller and smaller habitats,” said Wendy Wendlandt, president of Environment America Research & Policy Center.  “The key now is to connect these small habitat ‘islands’ through corridors. Doing so can give wildlife the space they need to hunt, mate and migrate.”

Statement: House committee approves critical funding to electrify U.S. Postal Service

WASHINGTON --- The House Committee on Oversight and Reform approved on Thursday $7 billion to electrify the United States Postal Service’s (USPS) vehicle fleets, as proposed by Rep. Stephen Lynch. Additionally, the committee approved funding to electrify other government vehicles.
