Texas Senate approves anti-renewable energy bills

Department of Energy | Public Domain

The Texas Senate approved anti-renewable energy legislation today, including SB 1287, creating a new transmission fee and SB 2015, requiring renewable companies to subsidize the construction of new fossil fuel plants. These are part of a package of bills that could grind renewable energy development in Texas to a halt. That would mean more air pollution threatening our health and higher electric bills. We’re counting on the House to reject these.
