As of Sunday, families, homeowners, and renters that want to install heat pumps, solar panels, better insulation, or energy efficient appliances, can now access the cost saving benefits of clean energy with a leg up from the federal government.

The Department of Energy’s break-down of the tax credits, which include covering 30 percent of the cost of a solar system, 30 percent of the cost of battery storage, 30 percent of the cost for efficient air-conditioners, space heaters and water heaters up to $600, and more, also includes answers to frequently asked questions.

“When it comes to deployment of clean energy home technologies, it’s game on,” said Johanna Neumann, Senior Director of Environment America Research & Policy Center’s Campaign for 100% Renewable Energy.
