Your year-end gift can help save bees from deadly pesticides

Last year, nearly half of all honeybee colonies were lost, while a quarter of wild bee species are teetering on the edge of extinction.

We need to be doing everything in our power to help save the bees.

That’s why we’re making it one of our highest priorities in the year ahead to convince Amazon, the world’s No. 1 online retailer, to stop selling bee-killing pesticides once and for all.

Bees are being poisoned by toxic pesticides

Bees are critical pollinators, vital to the health of wild flowering plants and the food we eat, including nuts, fruits and vegetables.

But our best pollinators are dying, and a class of deadly pesticides called neonicotinoids are a big culprit.

Researchers have found that neonicotinoid pesticides impair bees’ ability to reproduce and harm baby bumblebee brains. Bees exposed to these chemicals face uncontrollable shaking, paralysis and death.

Bees can’t survive the rampant use of toxic pesticides, and we need to do all we can to protect them.

We’re calling on Amazon to take action, and we need your help

As long as neonicotinoid pesticides are available for same-day delivery from Amazon at the click of a mouse, bees won’t be safe.

The reason we’re focusing on Amazon is that as the world’s largest online marketplace, Amazon has tremendous market power and reach into all 50 states.

We’re working to convince Amazon to take bee-killing pesticides off its virtual store shelves, while we keep up our work to tackle climate change, defend our forests from logging, and protect our last wild places.
