Mark leads The Public Interest Network’s national communications and media relations campaigns. Before joining The Public Interest Network, Mark worked at CNN for nearly 20 years, and taught writing classes for six years through the Turner Professional Development Center. Mark was the recipient of an Emmy Award, two Peabody Awards and a DuPont Award. Mark currently lives near Denver, Colo., with his wife and three children. He’s also a music fanatic who’s been lucky enough to interview many of his favorite artists.

The U.S. Interior Department’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) announced Tuesday that it is moving forward with environmental assessments (EA) of two coastal areas to evaluate the effects of hosting offshore wind activities.

Statement: Federal court invalidates ‘Dirty Water Rule’

The United States District Court for the District of Arizona on Monday vacated the Trump administration’s Navigable Waters Protection Rule (NWPR), which wiped out federal protections for half the nation’s remaining wetlands and thousands of streams that provide drinking water to millions of Americans. Citing serious legal errors and harm caused by the rule, the court decreed that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Army Corps of Engineers need to draft a new rule defining the scope of waterways protected under the federal Clean Water Act.
