State Department Extends Comment Period for Keystone XL Tar Sands Pipeline
Environment America
Washington, DC – On Friday, the State Department announced that the comment period for the Keystone XL tar sands Pipeline will be extended, delaying President Obama’s final decision on the project.
Environment America Federal Global Warming Program Director Julian Boggs issued the following statement in response:
“The Keystone XL tar sands pipeline is a bad deal for America – for the environment, the climate and the communities along its route. President Obama already has more than enough proof to reject the pipeline based on his own climate test, and as time goes on, more evidence proving the dangers of this project will likely pile up.”
