Before retiring as a grant officer in philanthropy, I met an ambitious, young man named Luke Metzger. He impressed me with his vision, passion, persuasion, and intelligence. Environment Texas Research and Policy Center was just getting started. Luke vowed to make it a major advocacy organization for environmental causes in Texas. No easy task!
Since 2006, Environment Texas Research and Policy Center has grown into a dynamic force for environmental changes by advocating for sustainable solutions on land, air, water, and wildlife throughout the state. The organization has been highly successful in achieving its goals with many victories, a few losses, and continues to persist in making Texas a place where citizens and visitors can live and thrive with cleaner air, more parks, natural landscapes, and toxic-free harvests.
