Environment America endorses Rep. Ed Case for Congress
Congressman Case running for re-election in Aug. 13 Hawai’ian primary

HONOLULU – Environment America announced Friday it is endorsing U.S. Rep. Ed Case for re-election in Hawai’i’s 1st Congressional District. Environment America urges all voters in the district who care about our oceans and environment to vote in the Democratic primary on Saturday, Aug. 13, to keep Ed Case protecting Hawai’ian interests in Washington.

"As a Congressman from Hawai’i, Ed Case knows just how important the environment is, especially the ocean,” said Lisa Frank, the executive director of Environment America’s federal office. “He's a cosponsor of the Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act and the Ocean-Based Climate Solutions Act, and through his roles on the House Natural Resources Committee, the Appropriations Committee and the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition, he advances conservation and clean energy priorities. This congressional session, Rep. Case has voted for bills to save wildlife and build sustainable infrastructure. We look forward to him returning to Congress in 2023 so he can continue to advocate for the issues so important to Hawai’ians."

Rep. Case has helped protect Hawai’i’s coral reefs, secured funding for world-leading climate change research at the Mauna Loa Observatory and introduced the Hawai’i Invasive Species Act to protect the archipelago’s unique ecosystems, natural resources and agricultural communities from the crippling effects of invasive species.

In addition, Rep. Case is one of those increasingly rare, pragmatic “get-it-done” Members of Congress who are willing and able to work across the aisle to pass legislation. Hawai’ians have an opportunity to keep such a productive representative in office by voting for Rep. Case over his primary challenger. So, Environment America urges voters in Hawai’i’s 1st Congressional District to make sure to get to the polls on Aug. 13 and vote.
