PennEnvironment DC Lobby Visits
PennEnvironment staff had a great time in DC last week talking with Pennsylvania’s members of Congress about stopping plastic pellet pollution, protecting our wildlife, and tackling climate change.

Some of our staff, Flora Cardoni, Faran Savitz, and Ellie Kerns, had a great time in DC last week talking with Pennsylvania’s members of Congress about stopping plastic pellet pollution, protecting our wildlife, and tackling climate change.
They spoke to members and their staff about the Plastic Pellet Free Waters Act which would prevent companies from dumping or spilling plastic, specifically nurdles, into our waterways – helping to protect aquatic ecosystems and public health.

PennEnvironment also discussed the Recovering’s America’s Wildlife Act (RAWA). RAWA will help fund important conservation programs to protect Pennsylvania’s wildlife and unique stream ecosystems.
And we talked about how we can work together to promote cool clean energy projects in the districts- like our recent solar tours with Rep. Fitzpatrick and Rep. Houlahan.
PennEnvironment looks forward to working with all of Pennsylvania’s members of congress to get these bills over the finish line and keep building a clean energy future. Together we can tackle plastic pollution, protect our wildlife, and promote clean energy in the Commonwealth!
