Heat pump technology is the most efficient way to both heat and cool homes.

Jackie Robinson is the lead instructor at the Energy Coordinating Agency. He shared why they are teaching heat pump technology in their training center. 

“Everybody’s in the trend of moving away from the burning of fossil fuels, so heat pump technology is the most efficient way to both heat and cool homes. 

“A heat pump is nothing more than an air conditioning unit. The only thing is instead of taking the heat out of the house and putting it outside, we now have a reversing valve where we take the heat from outside and put it into the house. So highly efficient – it’s like for every dollar you put in you get three dollars out. It’s like having a slot machine, every time you pull the handle you get three bucks.

“In the United States it’s fairly new, in the rest of the world it’s highly used. To heat and cool, the rest of the world is far advanced, a little farther than us, because they are already using heat pump technology. Now, we are trying to catch up and at the same time save the planet that we all live on.”
